High quality steel. Thick, with a very good powder coat. Purchased alongside the sun shade brackets that mount on top of these 3 way brackets. Better than other brands with thinner steel. I used black exterior-rated 2”x 1/4” structural screws to fasten to my pergola posts. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these brackets. American made. I will definitely spread the word on these. Thank you!

Exactly what we were looking for to build our pergola.
Great quality, heavy and strong.
Item didn't fit a 4 x 4 post. We had to cut into the posts and bang it in to get it to work. If it's supposed to fit a 4 x 4 post, it should be built slightly wider then a common 4 x 4 post.

We LOVE our pergola corner brackets! Thank you for a great product. Used 4x4 posts and 2x4 beams mounted with black spray painted joist hangers. Spray painted bolts black, too. Made cover with 9x12 drop cloth and curtains from two 4x15 drop cloths.
Brackets seem very sturdy. I made 10x16ft pergola. The opening is exactly 3.62in which is slightly more than 3.5in wood. This is good, because you can use directly the soaked in chemicals treated wood sold in home depot or lowes. The wood shrinks once it dries out. People who used Toja grid had to trim the wood to fit it.
I have two complaints that do not seem to be dealbreakers, but they better be addressed. One of the corner brakets came with less hole than the other. The coating is not perfect - it peels off on the edges. Wherever it peels, it shows shiny, which suggest the weren't put in sand blaster before coating, or at least, not enough. See pics
